Kayden Laganà has scored the highest score by a Maltese bowler in a team event at the European Youth Championships that are currently being played in Tilburg, Netherlands.
The young Laganà bowled a 1,289 scratch series to record the highest score from a Maltese bowler in the team competition at these prestigious championships.
Laganà formed part of Maltese boys’ selection that also included Nicolas Muscat, Dwayne Zahra, and Chris Fenech who ended their commitments in this category in 11th place.
The gold medal in the team competition went to Sweden.
Laganà and Zahra are the two Maltese bowlers who are on course to finish among the top 24 bowlers in the All Events standings that would earn them a place in the Masters final that will be played on Saturday.
At present Laganàis sitting in 21st place, just one place ahead of team-mate Zahra.
Meanwhile, on Thursday, Kathryn Fenech and Ruslana Grima will play their final round from the girls’ singles tournament.
