Coach Anicic names national team squad for training camp

Malta Futsal coach Zeljko Anicic has selected 20 players for a four-day training camp scheduled between September 27 and 30.

This training camp will be followed with two friendly matches against Andorra on October 1 and 2.

Both friendlies will be played at the National Sport School in Pembroke, kicking off at 8pm and will be a perfect test for the national team ahead of their commitments later on this year.

The national team squad is formed by 20 players and includes four goalkeepers. Champions Luxol St Andrews Futsal Team are represented by seven players while Valletta and University have five players each. Two other players hail from Swieqi Futsal while Giancarlo Sammut is the only foreign-based player as he is currently on the books of Polish side LSSS Team Lebork after several years plying his trade with Luxol Futsal.

Goalkeepers: Clint Mifsud (Luxol Futsal), Stefan Vella (Luxol Futsal), Dylan Cacciattolo (University of Malta), Mark Adami (Valletta Futsal).

Defenders: Marwan Telissi (Luxol Futsal), Giancarlo Sammut (LSSS Team Lebork), Jovica Milijic (Luxol Futsal), Michael Borg (Valletta Futsal), Karl Sciortino (University of Malta), Andre Cachia (Valletta Futsal).

Lateral/Forwards: Carl Azzopardi (Luxol Futsal), Robert Stoyanov (Valletta Futsal), Cleaven Portelli (University of Malta), Andre Ciancio (Valletta Futsal), Aaron Montebello (Swieqi Futsal), Armando Gjepali (Swieqi Futsal), Jean Noel Azzopardi (University of Malta), Stefan Camilleri (University of Malta), Mark Zammit (Luxol Futsal), Matthew Attard (Luxol Futsal).
