Luxol St Andrews battle past St George’s in Enemed Futsal League

Luxol St Andrews, the reigning champions in the Enemed Futsal League, didn’t find the going easy in their match against St George’s although they still won 4-2.

The Cottonera side gave their all against their more-quoted opponents and were always in the game throughout the whole 40 minutes.

Andy Mangion, Marwan Telisi, Luke Gatt and Andre Ciancio were on the mark for Luxol while St George’s response arrived from Karl Luke Schembri and an own goal by Andy Mangion.

Swieqi United dominated their match against Fgura United as they won 10-1.

Ryan Muscat, Michael Borg and Dylan Pace scored a brace each with Rodney Debono, Emerson Molina, Dylan Pirotta and Justin Theuma also putting their names on the score sheet.

Deork Portelli pulled one back for Fgura.

University of Malta obtained an important 5-3 win over Żurrieq Futsal.

The students established a good advantage at the beginning of the match, with Żurrieq fighting back late on but their response was to no avail on the day.

Mohammed Elamari scored a brace while Cleavon Portelli, Shataizan Zarb and an own goal by Dale Vella were also on the mark for the University of Malta.

Javier Montes Burgos, Boicho Marev and an own goal by Elamari replied for Żurrieq.

Ta’ Xbiex Futsal had a positive outing against Marsaskala, winning 13-5.

Dylan Musu scored a poker, Zvezdan Vukovic and Karl Sciortino netted a hat-trick, Stefi Cale grabbed a brace while Redeemer Borg added another one for Ta’ Xbiex.

In response for Marsascala, Owen Borg and Craig Pickard scored a brace each with Jean Leite Lopes also on target.

In the match between the oldest and the youngest teams of futsal, Malta U19 edged Malta Veterans 5-4.

It was a very interesting affair with Malta U-19 grabbing the goals through a brace from Deyan Pace and Collin Sammut and another from Kieran Debono.

Noel Bray scored a hat-trick for the Veterans with Paul Bugeja also putting his name on the scoresheet.
