Lauren Agius excels in FIG Level A category
Gymnasts from Club Ritmica Malta took part in the International Rhythmic Gymnastics Competition A.S.D Circeo Accademia Cup 2023 which was held in Italy.
The competition was well organised and the gymnasts from Ritmica Malta managed to achieve some excellent results when competing against opponents of a higher-calibre countries such as Italy, Kazakhstan, New Zealand, and the Czech Republic.
Lauren Agius was one of the top performers for the team when she managed to win medals when competing in the FIG A category, the highest level in the tournament.
Agius managed to win a silver medal in the hoop with a score of 20.550, Ball when recording 20.200, and Clubs when managing 19.550 points.
She also placed second in the Ribbon category when amassing a score of 17.550.
In Group C, Emma Fava was a runner-up in the Hoop category with a score of 18.850 while placing fourth in the Ball on 16.350.
Ritmica Malta had four gymnasts competing in Group B. Here, Jimena Moreno topped the standings in the hoop with a score of 18.00 and placed second in the Ribbon on 17.050.
Olesya Vasilko placed first in the Ball on 17.500 and also topped the Clubs competition with a score of 14.900.
Maria Prudnikova took the gold medal in Clubs with a score of 20.350 and also topped the Ball event on 18.000
Katya Miller was second in the Hoop on 20.350 and then went one better in Clubs when topping the standings on 18.750.
In Group A, Chezonelle Georgette Azzopardi placed second in the Hoop on 19.100 and then took the honours in the ball with 19.500.
Therese Amelie Vassallo was second the Ball on 17.700 before topping the Hoop on 18.350.
Vassallo also placed second in the Clubs when managing a score of 18.850.
The Ritmica Malta contingent was led by coach Elena Vella.
