Team Malta made its debut in a GSSE in the discipline of rhythmic gymnastics when Alyona Draguyza and Lauren Agius took to the stage in the qualifiers for hoops, clubs, and ribbon.

Despite being a GSSE, the competition attracted athletes from Cyprus and San Marino who have enjoyed some impressive results at world standings.

Eight athletes from every apparatus progressed to the final scheduled for today.

In the hoops, Draguyza scored 18.000 to finish 15th from 17 participants.
