Duncan Micallef is facing a busy schedule in the coming weeks as the Maltese Top Fuel Dragster driver and former FIA European Drag Racing champion announced his plans for the rest of the summer.
Micallef’s first engagement will be between Thursday, July 25, and Sunday, July 28, at Mantorp Park at Mantorp, Sweden where he will participate in the highly-anticipated Meguiar’s Drag Festival. This dedicated drag racing festival promises thrilling action and intense competition.
The following weekend, from Thursday, August 1 and August 4, Micallef will be at Gardermoen Raceway, in Norway, a battleground known for hosting some of the most intense drag races.
He will be participating in Norway’s biggest Drag Race event, where fierce duels are lined up, promising a high level of competition in both the Norwegian Championship and the European Drag Racing Series.
Between Thursday, August 8 and 11, Micallef shall be at the Tierp Arena in Sweden to participate in the Scandinavian Internationals, another round of the FIA European Drag Racing Championship.
Only two weeks later, between August 22, and August 25, Micallef shall be at Hockenheimring at Hockenheim in Germany, to take part in the 37th edition of the Nitrolympx, another round of the FIA Drag Racing Championship,
In September, Micallef will be participating in the most important race of the year, the Final of the FA European Drag Racing Championship at Santa Pod.
Santa Pod, the home of European Drag Racing, holds a special place in the hearts of motorsport enthusiasts, being Europe’s first permanent drag racing venue, located in Podington, Bedfordshire, outside London in England, on a disused Second World War Royal Air Force airbase.
Racing will be held between September 5 and 8. Here, all Maltese motorsport enthusiasts will have high expectations of seeing Micallef being crowned European champion once again following his bright showing during the second round at the Tierp Arena in Sweden.
At the moment Micallef is leading the way in the European Championship standings.
