Dave Rogers steps down as Balzan FC head coach

Balzan FC are looking for a new head coach after Dave Rogers stepped down from his post, the Premier League club announced in a statement.

The Premier League club said that Rogers took this decision due to ‘unforeseen personal circumstances’.

Club president Anton Tagliaferro said: “We would like to thank Dave for all of his hard work and effort during his time at Balzan FC and wish him and his family well.”

On his part, Rogers said: “I have thoroughly enjoyed my time in Malta and especially as Head Coach of Balzan FC though due to unfortunate personal circumstances, I must step aside from my position with immediate effect.

“I wish everyone at Balzan FC the very best for the future.”

Assistant Coach Daryl Willard will continue in his role as caretaker until further announcements.

Rogers had taken over the reins of the team from the start of the season, but the team’s performances left much to be desired, and the team struggled to move out of the relegation battle.

Rogers was given time off from the club due to personal reasons and Williard had been put in charge of the team.

However, results failed to improve and Sunday’s 2-1 defeat to Balzan condemned the Reds to finish in one of the bottom two places when the Opening Round comes to an end this weekend.
