Watch: Elderly fans accompany Spartans players in league match as part of Ħamrun Ħanin campaign

Football fans in Malta and abroad are used to watching young children accompanying players to the field before games.

In a special initiative of Ħamrun Ħanin, on the occasion of the 360 Sports Malta Premier match between Ħamrun Spartans and Hibernians, the players of the Malta champions were accompanied to the field by senior supporters of the same club.

Through this gesture, the Ħamrun Spartans FC sent a strong message about keeping our elderly in mind.

“Many people are living on their own, and loneliness is an acute problem afflicting Maltese society. The message was a simple, yet strong one: let’s not leave anyone alone,” Ħamrun Ħanin said in a statement.

“In these holidays, find some time, think of those who are alone, relatives, friends or neighbours – a little time of your own can make a big difference.”
