Gżira United continued their transfer activity as they reached an agreement to sign Serbian attacking midfielder Stefan Denic, the Times of Malta can reveal.
The 25-year-old has been playing in the Serbian top-flight during the past two years with Jedintsvo Ub but has now decided to continue his career in the Maltese Premier League with Gżira United.
Denic has spent the majority of his career in Serbia as after starting his football adventure with BASK Belgrade he moved to Radnicki Obrenovac and Zlatibor.
In 2022 he decided to join Zlatibor for a few months before finally moving to Jedintsvo Ub and helped winning promotion to the Serbian Super Liga.
The arrival of Denic certainly adds more attacking flair to a Gżira side who are looking to challenge for a Top Six berth in the Closing Round of the 360 Sports Malta Premier.
Denic becomes Gżira United’s fourth signing this month after they brought in Serbian goalkeeper Marko Copic, Dutch wingback Shaquill Sno, Portuguese midfielder Diogo Barbosa and forward Lucas Macula, of Brazil.
Denic could make his debut for Gżira United when the Maroons face Birkirkara on Saturday.
