Maltese player Brian Cini is through to the quarter-finals of the World Amateur Snooker Championships after notching up two victories in the space of ten hours in Saidia, Morocco, on Thursday.
Cini opened the day with a Last 32 clash against English player Aidan Murphy.
The Maltese player started brightly and took the opening frame but the 20-year-old Murphy fought back and compiled a 91-point clearance to level the match.
But as from the third frame, Cini took full control of the match, winning the next four frames to secure a commanding 4-1 victory.
In the evening session, Cini was up against another English player Daniel Womersley.
Cini could not have a better start when he took the opening two frames, hitting a break of 100 points in the opener.
Womersley battled back to win the next two frames and level the match at two-games all.
In the fifth frame, the English player again started brightly to surge into a 42-point lead but Cini refused to panic and managed to turn the match around with a run of 62 and go 3-2 up.
In the sixth frame, Cini was firmly in control to take it 71-33 and seal a 4-2 victory.
On Friday, the quarter-final matches will be played during the morning session while the semi-finals are scheduled for the afternoon.
In the last eight, Cini will be up against German player Umit Dikme who had the better of Aaron Busuttil in the Round of 64.
