Sliema Wanderers set to complete signing of Luke Montebello

Former Ħamrun Spartans striker Luke Montebello is closing in on a move to Sliema Wanderers.

The Malta international striker is currently without a contract after he parted ways with Ħamrun Spartans earlier this year and was seeking a club to restart his career.

The Blues have been working hard to bring in top-quality signings this summer as they bid to put behind them a rather disappointing campaign that saw them miss out on all major silverware and fail to secure European football.

The Wanderers have now set their sights on Montebello to add more firepower to their forward line and sources told the Times of Malta that an agreement in principle has been reached between all parties.

It is expected that Montebello is set to sign a three-year contract and become the Wanderers’ first signing of the summer transfer window.
