The 24th and the 25th meeting of the year which included eighteen races all for trotters were held during the weekend at the Marsa Racetrack.
The two most important races were semi-finals from the Prix De Vincennes championship for French trotters from class Premier on a short distance of 2140 metres. These were won by Follow Me Flash and Galago Du Cadran.
From the two class Premier semi-finals, twelve horses made it to the final stage.
In the first semi-final, the early leader, French veteran and popular Crack Money (Charles Camilleri) was outsmarted midway through the final straight by Follow Me Flash (Rodney Gatt). Gatt’s trotter secured its first win in Malta with Extra Du Chatelet (Ludvic Ghigo), Eldorado De Ver (Noel Baldacchino), Fee Lucernaise (Salvu Vella) and Floralyse D’Authou (Paul Galea) also obtaining a good place.
Galago Du Cadran (Paul Galea) was unchallenged during the 2140 metres distance of the second class Premier semi final. This French trotter registered its fourth win in Malta easily by two lenghts and a half from El Presidente (Redent Magro), Diablo D’Herfraie (Rodney Gatt) and Eden De L’Iton (Dylan Baldacchino). Caprice De Cosse (Carl Caruana) and Fitzy De Vive (Laura Frendo) were the last two trotters which qualified for the final stage.
