This weekend, EquestriMalta will be organising Festa Żwiemel at Monte Kristo.
The two-day event will get underway Saturday from 6pm onwards, and Sunday, from 9am until late afternoon.
The fair will feature various attractions related to equestrian sport as well as many traditions. Visitors can also expect to find several stands offering items, products, and other goods linked to horses and equestrian activities.
The Malta Equestrian Federation, the Malta Polo Club and the Island Polo Club are all expected to participate.
A full programme of events will take place tomorrow morning, organised by the Malta Equestrian Federation, along with polo matches on both Saturday and Sunday featuring teams from the Island Polo Club and the Malta Polo Club.
Highlights will include a variety of shows featuring traditional carriages and horses with different abilities, some even synchronised with a musical show, promising an original and varied spectacle.
There will also be a section of polo simulators called Roda Polo, the first of their kind in Malta, and a pony area for children, as well as various exhibitions and a range of services connected to horses.
On Sunday morning, the traditional blessing of horses will also be held, as part of an age-old custom. In keeping with tradition, there will also be displays and discussions about traditional and historic horse-related crafts.
Entrance to the Horse Fair is free of charge, and a strong attendance is expected, especially since this is the first event of its kind organised by EquestriMalta, the regulatory authority that supports and promotes all equestrian sport.
