Sixth win in a row and in Malta for The Lion in Premier heat

The 35th meeting of the season consisting of ten races all for trotters was held on Friday evening at the Marsa Racetrack.

These races heralded the start of the Centre Parc Championships for all classes on a short distance of 2140 metres distance.

The most important race was the class Premier championship. This was won by Swedish The Lion, under the guidance of Rodney Gatt and which sealed its sixth win in a row and in Malta.

Fourteen trotters lined up for the class Premier heat. Driven by Rodney Gatt.

The Lion increased its speed in the final metres and past the finishing post easily by a length from Gassman D’Essa (Carl Caruana), Rampant (Cherise Farrugia) and Fameux Sax (Noel Baldacchino). The winner clocked an avarage time of 1.13.6” per kilometer.
