The Maltese Olympic Committee recently presented awards to the finalists of the Art Competition which formed part of the educational process and promotion of the 2023 Games of the Small States of Europe.
Organised by the Maltese Olympic Academy, under the guidance of the Maltese Olympic Committee, the art competition attracted a large number of artworks submitted for consideration from various schools and colleges around Malta and Gozo.

Students were invited to take part in a Banner, Medal and Mascot design whilst others were invited to write an essay on the topic.
Submissions, which were made either on an individual basis or as group entries from various classrooms, were placed on display at the MOC premises.
The shortlisted participants, together with their parents and teachers, were invited to participate in the Awards Ceremony Programme hosted by the Maltese Olympic Academy Team.
The programme highlights the importance of the Olympic Values through game practice delivered by basketball player Alec Felice Pace.
Participants enjoyed an interactive presentation by the National Swimming Coach Mr. Delon Dannhauser, promoting the importance of working TOGETHER.
A Scavenger Hunt that took the learners through the Timeline of the Olympics and the Legacy of the Maltese Olympic Academy.
As part of the programme, participants met with Janet Richard, a multiple GSSE Medallist in athletics, who gave a personal account of her athletic endeavours and experiences.
The event concluded with the presentation of commemorative tokens to the finalists.
