Main National Event at Marsa today
This year’s European Week of Sport, to be held between Sunday and September 30, will showcase sporting activities all around Malta and Gozo to reach every individual within the community from local councils, workpaces and schools to clubs, associations, federations and the general public.
The Main National Event will take place today at the Marsa Sports Grounds, from 3pm to 6pm. This event promises a wide variety of sporting activities accessible to everyone, from seasoned athletes to beginners.
Participants will have the opportunity to explore and enjoy different sports in a welcoming environment that encourages teamwork, fun, and physical fitness.
In preparation for the events, SportMalta has made extensive arrangements to ensure the safety and comfort of all participants.
Temporary road closures and traffic diversions will be implemented around Marsa during the Main National Event on Sunday.
These adjustments, which have been carefully planned and announced on SportMalta’s social media platforms and official website, are essential to maintain smooth traffic flow and prioritize the safety of participants and spectators alike.
The second highlight of the week is the #BeActive Night, scheduled for Saturday, September 28, offering a mix of exciting physical challenges.
The night event will commence at 7pms and will include Obstacle Course Racing (OCR), CrossFit, and various Fitness Challenges designed to push participants to their limits in a fun and inclusive atmosphere.
This special fitness celebration invites people of all ages and fitness levels to come together, discover new ways to stay active, and foster a sense of community through shared physical activity.
The European Week of Sport 2024 was officially launched by Rose Marie Mercieca, the National Coordinator, in a ceremony that highlighted the importance of this initiative.

They highlighted how the collaboration between local sports clubs, schools, fitness centers, and workplaces plays a vital role in driving engagement and inspiring the community to be more active.
