The Archery Association of Malta Indoor National Championship 2025, held last weekend, was a thrilling competition that showcased the skill, precision, and determination of Malta’s top archers.
With an intense lineup of participants, the tournament saw fierce battles, particularly in the Compound Male and Female divisions, where archers pushed themselves to achieve outstanding results.
The Compound Men’s category was a tightly contested battle, with Daniel Schembri emerging victorious.
Schembri delivered a stellar performance, achieving a personal best of 576 points in the qualification round and maintaining his dominance with 146 points in the final round equalling the current national record.
Jeremy Bartolo followed closely, finishing second with an impressive 575 points in qualification and 143 points in the final round.
Brian Micallef secured the third-place position, completing the podium in this competitive category.
In the Compound Women’s division, Marianne Buttigieg put on a commanding performance, securing the top spot with 155 points in the qualification round and 139 in the final round.
Maria Bugeja claimed second place, while Michelle Abela rounded out the podium in third.
The championship was not only about experienced archers but also saw promising young talent making their mark.
Jacob Buttigieg displayed great potential in the Recurve Under-18 Men category while Anne Grima put in a strong performance in the Recurve Women category.
Zhao Avery impressed in the Recurve Under-18 Women division.
Their performances signal a bright future for Maltese archery, with these young athletes showing remarkable composure and skill on the national stage.
The event was officiated by John Schembri, who ensured smooth execution and fair play throughout the championship.
With such high-calibre performances and intense competition, the Archery Association of Malta Indoor National Championship 2025 proved to be a spectacular showcase of talent, setting the stage for another exciting season in Maltese archery.
