XTERRA Malta, recognised as one of the most picturesque off-road triathlon races in Europe, and held within the stunning Majjistral Natural Park and Golden Bay, delivered the essence of classic off-road racing.
Whether athletes were chasing qualification for the 2025 XTERRA World Championship in Italy this September or simply looking to take on the full-distance challenge, the event catered to all with an adventurous spirit.
It also served as the Malta National Cross Triathlon Championship, held in partnership with the Malta Triathlon Federation (MTF), and acted as a qualifier for the European Triathlon Multisport events.
In the elite men’s race at the XTERRA Malta Full Distance Triathlon, Petr Soukup of the Czech Republic, claimed victory with a commanding performance, crossing the finish line in 2:20:50.
Soukup led from the front with a strong swim and bike leg, maintaining his advantage through the run to secure the win.
Luxembourg’s Paris Fellmann followed in second place with a time of 2:22:39, making up ground on the run but falling just short of the top spot.

France’s Frédéric Delarce rounded out the podium in third, finishing in 2:25:19 after a steady and consistent effort across all three disciplines.
In the elite women’s division, Elisabetta Curridori, of Italy, made a strong return to racing with a commanding performance to take the win in Malta. She completed the course in 2:41:45, leading the women’s field from start to finish.
Curridori set the tone early with a 20:18 swim, transitioned smoothly, and held her advantage with a solid bike split of 1:30:21.
She closed with a 49:29 run to secure her place at the top of the podium, marking a successful showing on the rugged trails and coastal terrain of Golden Bay.
