Driven by young Gozitan driver Jonathan J Farrugia, Rally Inge won Tuesday’s major event at the Marsa Racetrack. This was the class Premier race held on a long distance of 2640 metres and formed part of the 6th meeting of the season consisting of eight races all for trotters.
Only eight trotters lined up for the class Premier race. Dats So Cool (Ludvic Ghigo) was the fastest horse at first, opening a small lead from Crack Money (Charles Camilleri) and Follow Me Flash (Rodney Gatt).
However Ghigo’s trotter ran out of steam midway through the final straight and was overtaken by Rally Inge (Jonathan J Farrugia) which sealed its second win in a row. Crack Money finished third from I.D. Forecast (Nathaniel Barbara).
Tuesday’s card also included a class Gold race on the same distance.
Here, French Hobby Du Loisir (Jeffrey Pace) led all the way and registered its first win of the year after sustaining the challenges of Cinik D’Aghi (Miguel Mc Kay) and Holger (Paul Galea) in the final metres. I Run De Janeiro (Dylan Baldacchino) also obtained a good place.
Another meeting at the Marsa Racetrack will be held on Sunday. The first race should start at 1.30pm.
