The Malta Football Association announced that the two Premier League matches between Ħamrun Spartans and Valletta and Gudja United vs Sirens, that were called off this weekend, will be played on Monday at the National Stadium.
The local governing body of football was forced to postpone these matches after the enclosure of the National Stadium suffered damage following the strong gale force winds that hit the islands on Saturday.
It is understood that MFA personnel effected repairs on Sunday on the damaged tent to ensure the venue will be able to host fans for Monday’s matches.
Monday’s programme will open with the match between Sirens and Gudja United at 2pm while the derby between Ħamrun Spartans and Valletta will now kick off at 6pm.
“The Malta FA has today confirmed that rescheduled matches for tomorrow’s BOV Premier League games are scheduled as follows at the National Stadium, Ta’ Qali: 2pm – Sirens vs Gudja; 6pm – Valletta vs Hamrun,” the MFA said in a statement.
“Supporters already in possession of tickets for these matches as originally scheduled will still be able to use the same ticket to enter the stadium tomorrow.”
