The Malta Weightlifting Association will be represented by two young athletes to Chisinau, Moldova, to take part in the European Youth Championships.
Kim Camilleri Lagana and Kaya Curmi Inguanez have shown exceptional skill and determination and skill in recent months to earn a place among the best lifters in their categories on the continent.
Camilleri Lagana will be in action on Sunday when she competes in the U-15 category. She is the current European champion in the U-15 division.
Accompanying Camilleri Lagana will be her coach, Jesmond Caruana, whose guidance and support have played a crucial role in her success.
Additionally, Kaya Curmi Inguanez, another promising athlete, will be competing in the Under 17 category starting on Wednesday, July 5.
Curmi Inguanez’s journey to the championships is a testament to her hard work and perseverance. She will be accompanied by her coach, Rodmar Pulis, who has been instrumental in shaping her skills and preparing her for this significant event.
The European Youth Championships provide a platform for young athletes to test their mettle against competitors from various European nations.
It is an opportunity for them to gain valuable experience, showcase their talent, and foster international camaraderie within the weightlifting community.
