Watch: Drag racer Duncan Micallef sets European record with 321.4mph race

Duncan Micallef continued to rewrite the history books in the FIA Top Fuel Drag Racing Class after setting a new European record in his class in Tierp, Sweden.

Micallef, who is seeking to recapture the FIA crown this summer for a second time in his career, produced an impressive performance on his dragster on Friday.

The Maltese drag racer was competing at the Scandinavian Internationals at the Tierp Arena which was also another round of the FIA European Drag Racing Championship.

On his first qualifying run, straight out of the pits, Micallef broke his record and set a new European mark in the fastest motorsport class.

Micallef stormed home in an astonishing time of 3.79 seconds, reaching a mind-boggling speed of 321.4 miles per hour.

His performance saw him hit a faster top speed than the previous European mark of 321.01mph, set by Finland’s Ida Zetterstrom.

Added to that, Duncan Micallef’s timing of 3.79 seconds was 0.10 seconds faster than the previous best of 3.89.
