While the men’s futsal league takes a short break due to European and national team commitments, this weekend saw three matches played in the women’s league.
The encounter between Parr Mela Rockets and St Andrews ended in a 4-2 victory for St Andrews. The latter took a comfortable 4-0 lead, but Parr Mela Rockets’ late comeback was not enough to change the outcome.
St George’s Futsal secured their second consecutive win of the season, this time against Luxol Sports Club Futsal Argus, with a 5-3 scoreline.
The Bormla side continued to show their strength this season and now sit at the top of the table.
Meanwhile, Zero Sei Futsal also climbed to the top of the standings after a 4-1 win over Swieqi United Futsal LEC07, with four different players finding the net.
A superior goal difference keeps Zero Sei level with St George’s at the summit.
After Matchweek 2, the standings show St George’s Futsal and Zero Sei Futsal leading with six points each, followed by Luxol Sports Club Futsal Argus and St Andrews Futsal on three points.
Swieqi United Futsal LEC07 and Parr Mela Rockets Futsal are still searching for their first points of the campaign.
In Matchweek 3, St Andrews will face Luxol Sports Club Futsal Argus on Tuesday, while Zero Sei Futsal will meet Parr Mela Rockets Futsal on Wednesday evening.
On the same night, St George’s Futsal will take on Swieqi United Futsal LEC07.
