Maltese Futsal stars honoured at the Enemed Futsal Awards 2026

The leading figures of Maltese futsal were recognised during the Enemed Futsal Awards 2026, which were organised last week.

The leading figures of Maltese futsal were recognised during the Enemed Futsal Awards 2026, an evening dedicated to celebrating the outstanding achievements of players, coaches, and clubs throughout the season, while also marking the 15th anniversary of the Futsal Malta Association.

During his address, Futsal Malta Association president Perit Mark Borg thanked clubs, players, officials, sponsors and all stakeholders who have contributed to the growth and success of Maltese futsal over the past fifteen years.

In the coaching categories, Gaetano Papaleo of Zero Sei Futsal was named Best Futsal Coach in the Women’s League, David Bobokhidze of Futsal Selection U19 won the Challenger League award, while Gabriel Dobre of Luxol St Andrews Futsal claimed the Premier League honour.

In the goalkeeper categories, Rachelle Borg of Luxol Sports Club Futsal Argus won Best Goalkeeper in the Women’s League, Gianni Farrugia of Futsal Selection U19 was named Best Goalkeeper in the Challenger League, while Clint Mifsud of University of Malta Futsal received the Premier League award.

Maksim Radojevic of Futsal Selection U19 was awarded Most Promising Player following an outstanding season in which he played a key role in his team’s Challenger League triumph and Knock-Out Final appearance.

The Best Maltese Player awards went to Nell Zarb Cousin, of Luxol Sports Club Futsal Argus in the Women’s League, Maksim Radojevic in the Challenger League, and Maicon Da Silva of Luxol St Andrews Futsal in the Premier League.

The Best Foreign Player awards were won by Vanessa Carneiro, of Zero Sei Futsal, in the Women’s League, Leonardo Rodrigues of Sliema Futsal Fort Fitness in the Challenger League and Jefferson Breno Alves of Luxol St Andrews Futsal in the Premier League.

Among the top scorers, Vanessa Carneiro finished as Women’s League Top Scorer with 23 goals, Luke Urpani of Futsal Selection U19 claimed the Challenger League Top Scorer award with 11 goals, while Cristian Fernandez of University of Malta Futsal topped the Premier League scoring charts with 31 goals.

The Top Scorer award for the Laferla Futsal Trophy was shared by Luke Urpani of Futsal Selection U19 and Luke Gatt of Luxol St Andrews Futsal after both players scored six goals in the competition.

A special highlight of the evening was the President’s Choice Award, presented to Celino Alves of Luxol St Andrews Futsal in recognition of his outstanding career and significant contribution to Maltese futsal over the years.

The Enemed Futsal Awards 2026 once again showcased the continued progress of Maltese futsal while recognising the players, coaches, and officials who helped make the season another successful one for the sport.
