EquestriMalta President’s Cup final to be held on March 1

The much-awaited EquestriMalta President’s Cup will be held on Sunday, March 1.

This will be the fifth edition of the prestigious race since the authority was established and EquestriMalta became the sponsor for this championship, which was introduced in the local trotting calendar way back in 1992.

During a press conference, details about this edition were given, and the owners of the 12 finalists had the opportunity to choose their starting number behind the autostart based on their performance during the two semi-finals.

The CEO of EquestriMalta, Max Zammit, expressed satisfaction with the growth of the EquestriMalta President’s Cup, and this edition will mark its fifth anniversary.

This edition will feature record cash prizes, with the winner taking home €5,000, and the following prizes: €2,500, €1,200, €500, and €250 from second to fifth place.

The Mini President’s Cup will also take place again, with two finals for trotting ponies driven by children attending the academy.

Tony Demanuele, vice President of the Malta Racing Club, congratulated and wished the owners who made it to the final of this edition, while thanking EquestriMalta for offering this championship early in the season since it wasn’t held in the previous year due to important work on the racetrack.

The CEO of Malta Equidrome, Matthew Brincat, said it’s notable that this championship is now being held on a new racetrack and expressed satisfaction that the head of state, the President of Malta, Her Excellency Myriam Spiteri Debono, will attend this important occasion for the second time and will award the trophies.

The EquestriMalta President’s Cup final will be the seventh race on the race sheet, scheduled to start at 4.25pm.
