Malta’s representatives for the Mediterranean Bowling Championships selected

Malta’s representatives at the Mediterranean Bowling Championships were selected during a 24-game qualification tournament that was held recently at The Superbowl.

Two male bowlers and two women will represent Malta at the prestigious tournament.

Tiziana Muscat Carannante and Cynthia Frendo Duca qualified in the top two spots for the ladies, with Melissa Swift placing third after what was a three-way fight from the first day.

Muscat Carannante saved the best for the last day. She was in third place after the first 18 games, 102 pins behind Frendo Duca.

But then in the last six games, Muscat Carannante compiled an average score of 216 to shoot up to first place.

In the men’s competition, national champion Nicolai Mallia shot off into first place from the beginning and ended up with a stellar 240 average, 301 pins ahead of second-placed Kayden Lagana’, who had an average of 228 pins.
