Lagana takes singles’ gold at the Mediterranean Bowling Championships

Kayden Lagana’ won the gold medal in the singles event at the Mediterranean Bowling Championships in Croatia.

The young Maltese bowler was in dominant form as he went ahead after the second game and stayed there till the end of the six games.

So dominant was his performance, that Lagana, who recorded an average of 238.8, ended up 90 pins ahead of second-placed Yoav Inv from Israel and was already pretty certain of first place by the start of the last game.  

Third place went to Croat Stevan Lekic, just ahead of the other Maltese bowler, Nicolai Mallia, who bowled a 216 average, just 14 pins less than third place.

The two Maltese ladies in action in the singles competition, Cynthia Frendo Duca and Tiziana Muscat Carannante, finished  11th and 21st respectively out of 30 female bowlers.

Doubles and mixed doubles will be bowled, followed by the team event on Friday and the Masters on Saturday.
