Luxol St Andrews beat University of Malta in top Premier Futsal League clash

The Maltese futsal season has been full of action in the past few days as the competitions approach their decisive phase.

In the Premier Futsal League Malta, the standout match of the week saw University of Malta Futsal face Luxol St Andrews Futsal in a highly-anticipated clash.

Luxol secured an important 4-1 victory, strengthening their position at the top of the table, with University of Malta still chasing behind.

In the other match, Marsaskala Futsal Legends were defeated 4-3 by GZR Birzebbugia St Peter’s Futsal.

Marsaskala had taken the lead, but Birzebbugia mounted a strong comeback in the second half to turn the result around.

In the Challenger League Malta Futsal, the quarter-finals saw Santa Venera Lightnings claim a dominant 7-1 win over Futsal Selection U17.

Attention now turns to the semi-finals, where Żejtun Corinthians will face Santa Venera Lightnings on April 22, while Futsal Selection U19 will take on Sliema Futsal on April 25, with both matches being played at the National Sports School.

The final will then be held on May 16 between the two semi-final winners.
