Tenpin bowling legend Dom Barrett will be assisted by Mark Jacobs and Sue Abela during his clinic for youth this month.
Barrett, England’s greatest professional bowler on the PBA Tour in the US, and a 13-time member of Team Europe in Weber Cup, will be in Malta to compete in the Malta Open championships at the Eden Superbowl that will be held between May 31 and June 4.
Before competing, Barrett will host a coaching clinic for the Malta youth bowlers, who will be given the opportunity to learn from one of the world’s best in their chosen sporting discipline.
Only a few places are left for the first Bowling Academy of Malta’s initiative, which is supported by the Eden Superbowl and Brunswick/BBBS, for the Malta Bowling Association youth members
In a statement, Bowling Academy of Malta said that PBA star Barrett will be assisted during the hands-on instruction clinic by Dutch international and former Malta Open winner Mark Jacobs, and Malta’s bowling star and four-times winner of the Malta Open Sue Abela.
This will be Barrett’s first visit to Malta as a PBA Pro bowler. He enjoys an extremely successful career and is only one of eight bowlers to win the PBA Triple Crown of the World Championships, US Open, and the Tournament of Champions.
Barrett won his first-ever Professional Bowlers Association (PBA) tour title in 2013 and holds seven titles and three major titles. He is also a three-time world bowling writers Bowler of the Year and was inducted into the UK Hall of Fame in 2013.
The Malta Open Championships are in their 32nd edition and will be the last one to be played in the old location.
Interested bowlers should contact Bowling Academy of Malta for further information.
