Malta men’s team reach semi-finals of Blackball Nations Cup

The sixth day of the Blackball Nations Cup, taking place in Bridlington, was characterised by several Maltese teams in action in intensive matches yesterday.

The men’s A team advanced to the semi-finals of the Blackball Nations Cup after finishing in second place in the standings.

On Thursday, they defeated Mauritius A 15-10 and Belgium 21-4 in matches that they dominated from start to finish.

On the other hand, the Malta B team had an 18-7 win against Ireland B1 and then overcame England B1 17-8. The only defeat came against England B 15-10.

The Seniors were also in action, with Malta A defeating Australia A 19-6 and Gibraltar A 16-9 but then went down to England A 16-9. The Malta B team lost 20-5 against England B and 15-10 against Scotland B.

In the Masters category, Malta A were beaten by England 17-8.

In the singles competition, Leon Azzopardi reached the semi-finals but lost to Stuart McColloch 6-3.
