Ħamrun 147 completed a treble of successes in the Blackball Easter competitions after winning the National Easter Trophy by defeating Cospicua Rangers 13-11.
This marked the third success achieved by the club, as earlier their Team B had won the Regional Easter Trophy, while Team D were crowned champions of the Community Easter Trophy.
The match featured the two top Blackball teams in the country.
Cospicua Rangers made a strong start, opening up a 5-1 lead, but the Ħamrun side showed great determination and managed to level the score at 5-5 before the interval.
From then on, the lead changed hands several times, and with the score at 10–10, additional sessions were required to determine the winner.
It was at this stage that Ħamrun secured the decisive frames to eventually seal the victory.
The referee for the match was Ephraim Calleja.
Ħamrun 147 were represented by Leon Azzopardi, Dejan Grech, Owen Amato, Philip Coleiro, and Stephen Mangion, with Clayton Castaldi serving as coach.
Cospicua Rangers were made up of coach Johan Attard, along with Clint Grima, Kevin Schembri, Clayton Attard, Ryan Pisani, Warren Falzon, Wayne Pace, Miguel Amato, Scott Muscat, and Gary Carr.
There were deserved celebrations from the players, officials, and supporters of Ħamrun, which reached their peak when the trophy was presented to captain Clayton Castaldi by a representative of the Malta Blackball Federation.
