The Futsal Malta Association successfully organised the Enemed Futsal Awards Night, where players and officials were honoured for their efforts in season 2024-25.
The special guest of the night was Laurent Morel, UEFA Futsal Competitions Manager, who highlighted the progress made by the sport of futsal in Malta during the past few years.
In the coaches’ category, Zvezdan Vukovic was selected as best Premier League Coach while Kieran Bugeja and Jackie Abdilla took the honour for the Challenge League and the Women’s League respectively.
Giancarlo Sammut won the Best Maltese Player award for the Premier League after making a return to the domestic league with Ta’ Xbiex Futsal.
Collin Sammut ended the season on a high note after he picked up the Best Maltese Challenger League player as well as the Most Promising Futsal Player award.
League debutant Leanne Micallef clinched the Best Maltese Player in the Women’s League whilst also bagging the Top Scorer award after finishing the season with 13 goals.
Ezequiel Alarcon, of Swieqi United Futsal LECO7, bagged the Premier League Top Scorer award after netting an impressive 24 goals.
Hamza Harrat, of Ħamrun Futsal, finished as the Challenger League top scorer with 14 goals.
The best goalkeeper awards went to Clint Mifsud, of Luxol St Andrews, in the Premier League, Matthias Borg, of Hamrun Futsal, in the Challenger League, and Lija Athletics player Rachelle Borg in the Women’s League.
In the Best Foreigner Player award, Jefferson Breno, of Luxol St Andrews, took the honour in the Premier League, Gia Nikvashvili of Hamrun Futsal in the Challenger League, and Eliza Csik of Zero Sei Futsal in the Women’s League.
Finally, Mark Zammit, captain of the Maltese national team and Luxol St Andrews, won the President’s Awards after he was recognised for his brilliant career and the contribution he gave to the futsal community.
