Swieqi Phoenix Nium had to battle hard to overcome the challenge of Falcons and lift the MVA Super Cup at the Cottonera Sports Complex last weekend.
The final turned out to be a hard-fought affair with both sides putting in a strong display in a bid to lift the trophy as the match dragged into a fifth-set decider.
Falcons started strongly as they managed to surge into a two-set lead after winning both sets with an identical 25-23 scoreline.
Swieqi fought back and managed to level the match when winning the next two sets.
Swieqi were now on top and managed to go on an win the match when prevailing in the decider.
For Swieqi this was their fourth successive success in the competition.
At the end of the match, MVA official Branko Vlahovic presented the trophy to Swieqi players and officials.
Meanwhile, Birkirkara had the better of Flyers 3-0 in the only match from the Super League.
