University of Malta, Zero Sei maintain leading status in Futsal league championships

The final round of the year in Maltese futsal produced an exciting set of fixtures across both the men’s and women’s championships.

University of Malta Futsal, in the men’s league, and Zero Sei Futsal, in the women’s competition, reconfirmed their dominance in their respective categories as both sides ended the year at the top of the standings.

Men’s Championship

In the men’s league, Santa Venera Lightnings Futsal secured their first win of the season with an emphatic 8-2 victory over Futsal Selection U19.

This match was effectively settled in the first half as they opened up a four-goal advantage.

University of Malta Futsal continued their impressive run with a dominant 11-0 win against GŻR Birżebbuġa St. Peter’s Futsal, with Argentine player Cristian José Fernández stealing the spotlight after scoring five goals.

Luxol St. Andrews Futsal also remained unbeaten after recording a remarkable 17-4 win over Żejtun Corinthians Futsal WA, with Brazilian forward Ferreira finding the net five times.

In an important clash for league positions, Marsaskala Futsal Legends maintained second place thanks to a 9-3victory over Sliema Futsal Fort Fitness, with Schembri scoring a hat-trick.

Women’s Championship

In the women’s championship, Parn Mela Rockets Futsal collected their first point of the season after a superb comeback, recovering from a four-goal deficit against St George’s Futsal to earn a 4-4 draw.

Luxol Sports Club Futsal Argus continued their strong campaign with a 4-1 win over Swieqi United Futsal LECO7, consolidating second place in the standings.

League leaders Zero Sei Futsal closed the year in style with a commanding 9–0 victory over St Andrew’s Futsal, extending their unbeaten run.ż
