Falcons maintain winning momentum in women’s Super League

Falcons and Birkirkara registered victories last weekend as the Malta Volleyball Association’s Super League resumed last weekend at the Cottonera Sports Complex.

In the opening match, Falcons eased past Flyers 3-0 for a very convincing victory.

It was a very important win for Falcons who have now consolidated their top spot in the standings. In fact, Falcons, under the charge of coach Jacques Seifert, have amassed 12 points, three clear of champions Swieqi Phoenix Nium.

Birkirkara battle hard before overcoming the challenge of newly-promoted Mġarr 3-2.

Birkirkara have now moved up to third place in the standings on five points, two better than Flyers while Mġarr remained bottom, with no points on the board.

In the First Division Championship, Paola Executive Security, as expected, overcame the challenge of Birkirkara Reds 3-0.

With this win, the unbeaten Paola club remained on top of the standings on 15 points, eight clear of nearest rivals Depiro.

Super League: Flyers Vs Falcons 0-3; Mġarr Vs Birkirkara VC 2-3.
