Swieqi Phoenix Nium kept up the pressure on Super League pacesetters when they eased past newly-promoted side Mġarr 3-0.
Swieqi, under the charge of coach Leonard Zammit Munro, were in control right from the outset, securing the first three sets of the match 25-11, 25-21 and 25-13.
With this win, Swieqi moved up to second in the standings, just three points behind leaders Falcons.
The Division One championship also resumed when two matches were played at the Cottonera Sports Complex.
In the first match, Paola Executive Security, led by Michael Magro and his assistant Antonio Borg, eased past Swieqi Phoenix Challengers 3-0 on Saturday.
Charles Gauci’s Depiro were in action on Sunday when they overcame the challenge of Birkirkara Reds 3-0.
Following these results, Paola remained at the top of the Division One standings with an unbeaten record while Depiro strengthened their grip on second place.
