Professional training camp for Paola Volleyball Club players

Paola Volleyball Club is organising a training camp for the club players between March 3 and 4 and will be led by professional Italian coach Norma Pilota.

The camp will be free of charge for all the club players and will be held at Corradino Sports Pavilion.

The organisation of this camp was made possible thanks to a recent agreement reached by the club committee, led by Dr Kenneth Vella, and Fabrizio Costantino, president of Italian Serie A club, Akademia Sant’Anna.

Thanks to this agreement, the Italian club is assisting the Paola club both on an administrative and also at a technical level.

Pilota is an experienced volleyball coach in Italy and she played at all levels of the Italian league for several years. When asked about the training camp, Vella thanked Costantino and his colleagues of the Italian club committee for their continuous support.

“Such initiatives help our club, which is currently occupying the top position in the Maltese First Division League, to maintain a solid and a professional level, even in the consolidation of both Senior team as well as the nursery,” Vella said.

“Moreover, one of the sessions of the training camp will be open to children who would like to try out this sport. In this way, the club helps in the promotion of this sporting discipline on a national level.”

Dr Vella mentioned that the Paola Club is planning to hold an international camp abroad for the nursery players.

All these initiatives have been made possible through the incessant work of the coaches who are part of the club’s technical staff, namely Michael Magro, Antonio Borg, Carmen Gauci, Bogdan Lackovic, Alex Albanese and Alesio Muscat, as well as through the work of the administrative staff, Alexia Brincau, Tiziana Bonnici and Claire Falzon.

Parents whose children do not train with the club nursery may avail themselves of this opportunity which is being offered free of charge.
