Flyers are the winners of the third edition of the Marindex Christmas Cup organized by Paola Volleyball Club last week.
Three teams took part in this tournament, whose one of the main aims was to continue promoting the game of volleyball in Malta. The participating teams were Paola Executive Security and Depiro from the First Division, and Flyers from the Super League.
Flyers finished with a perfect record after defeating Paola Executive Security 3-1 and Depiro 3-0.
Paola Executive Security won against Depiro 3-0 to finish second in the tournament.
At the end of this tournament, Paola Volleyball Club president, Dr Kenneth Vella, presented the winning trophy to Louise Vella, captain of Flyers.
In a statement, Paola Volleyball Club thanked the main sponsors of the tournament, Marindex Trophies, as well as club sponsors, Executive Security Services, Maypole, Yes2Health Fitness Club, HandsOn Systems, Maypole, Izibet and Dragonara Casino And Brasserie.
As part of Paola Volleyball Club’s commitment to continuing to strengthen the nursery, the club plans to give its young players international experience abroad.

Furthermore, thanks to the collaborative agreement between Paola club and Serie A1 Italian team, Akademia Sant’Anna, our club will have the opportunity to organise a training camp in March, which will be led by Italian professional coach Norma Pilota.
